I know I’ve been away for a while, but I’ve been out discovering products and working my way into the beauty industry! I’ve recently gotten a job with my one true love – Mecca Maxima. This means that I’ll be able to post new updates from the inside, bringing new products as they come.
Since I’ve received news of my new job, I’ve wanted nothing more than to educate my self in anything I can, and I’ve increased my interest in skincare tenfold.
The biggest find I’ve had since my growing interest in skin care is that of the brand eve lom. If you haven’t heard of eve lom, they primarily provide top of the range skincare, and while they are on the pricey side, my experience with them so far is absolutely phenomenal.
I’d recently been experiencing breakouts on my cheeks and chin, and I had been trying a range of products to help. While my cheeks were looking to be on the side of clearing up, they had red scars on them that weren’t fading. So I went into Mecca and got a sample of the eve lom White Advanced Brightening Serum. While this goes for $220 a bottle, the tiniest amount is needed to have effect. While it supposedly takes around 28 days to work fully, I noticed effects from my tester by about the time it ran out, which was about 10 days later. The red scars on my cheeks were clearing up, and my skin looked brighter than it had for as long as I can remember.
While I couldn’t say that this would work for everyone, I do believe that this serum really has significant standing for anyone wanting to help redness or scarring.
Another product I tried is the cult eve lom cleanser ($72-$155), which has been around for about 30 years, with a following for almost as long. While the scent of this cleanser may be odd for some, I find it relaxing, and perfect for both a morning and evening cleanser. It has a soothing texture when it’s applied, is very gentle on the skin, and, as described on the tub, the use of a hot exfoliating cloth is something I look forward to every morning and evening.
When removing my makeup, I like to use coconut oil to begin with, so I’m not trying to take off all of my makeup with my cleanser. I then use a dry cloth or tissue to remove the excess oil, and, as directed on the tub, massage the cleanser onto my dry skin. I then use a muslin cloth and hot water held over my face (4 times, 5 seconds each) to open the pores. As instructed, I use the muslin cloth to clean the cleanser off, while exfoliating at the same time. I then run the cloth under cold water, and hold it over my face for another 5 seconds.
Since the discovery of this cleanser, my skin has never looked or felt better. The description provided for the cleanser describes that it’s suitable for both dry and oily skin. I have combination skin, which can occasionally lean to the dry side, particularly in the colder months. I find that while your skin feels unbelievably clean after a cleanse, it doesn’t feel tight, which means it doesn’t dry the skin too much. I love to pair my cleanser with a rosehip oil (I’ve been using the essano rosehip oil from priceline – $28), which is great for skin repair, and not too oily.
Overall, I plan to buy more eve lom products in the future, and the cleanser will remain apart of my skincare regime.
Don’t forget that while you can put as much makeup on as you want, skincare is the most important part of any routine, and can severely impact application and coverage. I hope you got some useful pointers from this, and don’t forget if you have any questions, just ask.
